You can absolutely pair anything with leggings as long as you’re comfortable and confident enough to carry the look.

Leggings are tight-fitting pants that cover your legs, that extend from your waist up to the ankle. Typically they come in materials like cotton, lycra, leather, and polyester. They can be worn for workouts as well as for everyday casual hangouts or even for work if you talk about work pants leggings. They are mostly stretchable to impart you with utter comfort.
Leggings Outfit Ideas: What To Wear With Leggings
My personal styling involves pairing leggings mostly with the dress as I prefer a modest look most of the time. I do pair it with long tops too, I like tunic tops with leggings because that suits my body type well. Short tops just disbalance my proportions. You can pair them with comfy tops to look nonchalant or if you have to spice up the look you can wear belted tops to balance out the look.

Leggings + Tops/T-shirts
In summer, you can pair your leggings with loose or baggy tops or flowy t-shirts to keep you airy or a mid-fitting top that is neither too body-hugging nor too baggy. Oversized t-shirts with well-fitted leggings look highly apt for summer dressing. Also, you can look for cotton leggings as they are breathable. However, I don’t prefer cotton leggings mostly as they don’t appear too dressy to me. Instead of wearing plain leggings, you can look for some patterns like stripes, polka dots, and leopard prints.
In tops, you can look for some patterns too like floral, polka prints, geometric designs, or anything that will add fun to the attire. If you are opting for oversized t-shirt printed t-shirts like stripe prints, graphic designs will elevate the look further. If your leggings are plain make sure to add a patterned top or printed t-shirt to strike the balance between subtle and stylish. Also, if your leggings have prints that shouldn’t refrain you from experimenting with patterns, prints, and colors.
For spring and summer cooler fabrics in tops like rayon, and cotton would be more apt to keep you more comfortable.
Since I have white and black polka dots on it, I have paired it with a similar color combination top which is neither form-fitting nor too oversized. Styled with a denim crossbody bag and denim shoes. Yes, I love denim.
White leggings are utterly stylish when paired correctly. Here I have paired it with a contrasting black top with pink floral motifs on it. To balance and elevate the look further I have cinched the top with a fancy pearl belt. I completed the look with pointed-toe shoes.

Leggings +Top + Jacket
Whether it’s a dress, or a tunic top adding a warm layer of leggings will keep you cozy. Also, layer your top with a jacket to elevate your outfit’s look. A denim jacket or leather jacket can be your choice to pair with leggings. Leather leggings with a leather jacket are a chic combo. Try styling as per your liking by combining several things and see what works best for you.
You can wear long tunic tops paired with a jacket or a short T-shirt paired with a long cardigan that covers your back. Usually, leggings look best when paired with tops that cover your hips. Here too you can look for prints like polka dots and stripes. Nowadays floral print is not only relevant to summer, in fact, the trend says that the fall-winter look too can encompass florals.

Yes, when you are running out of outfit ideas you can directly jump into a sweater top and leggings that will not dissatisfy you in fact will make you look utterly elegant. Go for sneakers to complete the look. Explore colors in the sweater top and also the leggings and create versatile combinations by playing around with colors. Again, you can look for a hip-length sweater top or even a short sweater top if your body type allows you without making you look bottom-heavy.

If you are to dress up for your work, prevent your legs from tanning, or protect yourself from cool breezes, pairing leggings with a dress comes into the picture. You can go for a belted dress, a smocked waist dress, or a flowy dress from mini length to midi length. Also, for winter a knit dress is a great option to layer with leggings. In winter you can embellish your feet with boots whereas in summer you can style your feet with ankle-strapped sandals, sneakers, or anything that pairs well with your dress.
Here, I have teamed up a black asymmetric hem dress with black leggings and high heels. This dress cinches a bit at the waist.
If you are to pair something with white leggings then place your bet on stripes. Here I have paired a bow knot dress with stripes. Stripes impart justice to white leggings. A dress like this is perfect for an office look and looks extra modest when paired with leggings.

Well, ballet flats are one of the favorite choices to be paired with leggings. They have that typical feminine touch making the outfit appear cute. However, you can go about with sneakers too. Leggings are basically worn to feel comfortable so to enter that comfort zone at the max usually it is paired with flats or kitten heels. For a more refined look like if you are planning to wear leggings in your workplace, you can place your bet on heels. Heeled pumps are the best option when you are looking for a polished and elegant look. In winter the best option would be ankle-length boots.
